I am Ritu Kaul, founder and principal designer at Walnut. With a background in interior architecture and furniture design, I have focused on sharpening my skills through years of experience to bring warmth and elegance to extraordinary homes.

About Meet the Visionary: Ritu Kaul
When I am at my factory in Noida, I do not just watch. I check the thickness of the wood, the edge finishes, and the proportions of every piece. My process is entirely hands-on because I know that a beautiful design on paper means nothing if the execution on the floor is not perfect.
My journey with Walnut began in 2009, rooted in my childhood in Kashmir. I wanted to build a practice that moved away from mass-produced furniture and toward work with a soul. Over the last decade and a half, I have learned that the best interiors are the ones that grow with you.
I work with clients over many years, often returning to their homes long after the first project is done to adapt their spaces to their changing needs. This trust is my greatest achievement. Whether we are incorporating traditional Indian craft techniques like stone inlay or using reclaimed wood to stay conscious of our environmental footprint, my focus remains on the process.
I believe in full-scale testing before anything enters your home. We check dimensions, lighting placement, and material feel in real life, not just on a screen. If you visit my studio in Sector 65, you will likely find me going over sketches with my team or discussing a material finish with our workshop lead. My goal is simple: to create a home that reflects who you are, built with honesty, skill, and patience.
