Explosive Agility and Power Drills for Tennis Players
I build tennis athletes, not just players. These drills focus on court-specific speed, explosive power, and endurance to help you dominate your rallies.
This is what I mean by tennis-specific fitness. My collaboration with expert fitness coaches ensures every drill translates to better on-court performance.
Coordination is critical for a tennis player. We use fun and challenging drills like these to improve hand-eye coordination and reaction time.
No excuses, not even rain. When the courts are wet, we switch to off-court fitness to keep the grind going.
About Explosive Agility & Power Drills
Most tennis players hit the gym but still feel slow on court because their workouts do not translate to the game. I use resistance bands, agility ladders, and cone drills directly on the grass or hard surface to replicate match traction and movement. When the court is wet, we do not cancel; we move to endurance conditioning so your training cycle never stops.
Tennis requires unique biomechanics. You need lateral explosiveness, ankle stability, and sustained lung capacity, which standard treadmill cardio cannot provide.
My programs at locations like Dhaula Kuan, Sector 75 in Noida, and Greater Kailash-1 are structured around these specific needs:
Why Tennis-Specific Fitness Matters
Gym training builds size, but my court-based drills build function. We focus on split steps, crossover steps, and rapid deceleration to keep you balanced during high-speed rallies. This is the difference between reaching a ball and hitting it with purpose.
My Training Protocols
- Surface-Specific Agility: We train on the surfaces you play on, including hard courts and grass, using agility ladders to map your footwork.
- Power & Resistance: I use medicine balls and tubular resistance bands to strengthen your core and shoulders, preventing the common injuries tennis players face.
- The Mental Edge: Physical strength is only half the battle. I integrate yoga and pranayama into our sessions to help you control your breath and maintain focus when the score is tight.
The SlamQuest Approach
Whether you are a junior player building your ABCs (Agility, Balance, and Coordination) or a competitive athlete chasing national titles, the intensity remains the same. We cap our semi-private indoor sessions at 3 to 4 athletes to ensure you receive proper form correction and load management. If you are looking to get faster, hit harder, and stay injury-free, come put in the work.
SlamQuest
I am Maddy, and I do not believe in generic gym routines. My team and I focus on turning you into a tennis athlete through movement, reaction, and raw grit. If you are here to work hard and push your limits, you are in the right place.
