This is not a holiday. My immersive spiritual retreat is a 3-day journey in Haridwar and Rishikesh for dedicated practitioners. We train the soul, not just the body.

This is Plavini Pranayama, an advanced yogic breathing technique that allows the body to become light enough to float on water. During the retreat, I guide practitioners through the intricacies of this powerful kriya, demonstrating how breath control can lead to mastery over the physical form.

Here, our group of sadhaks gathers at Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh for the evening Ganga Aarti. Being part of this ancient fire ceremony on the banks of the holy river is a core spiritual experience of our yatra, connecting us to a lineage of devotion.

We engage in deep meditation practices like Swardhyaya and Naad Yog to turn the senses inward. In these sessions, we create a focused environment, free from external distractions, allowing you to explore the subtle energies and sounds within your own consciousness.

A key part of our retreat is learning from authentic masters. Here, my students are receiving a lecture from Pujya Swamiji, gaining insights into yogic philosophy from a true authority. Access to such wisdom is essential for any serious practitioner.

My own sadhana is the foundation of my teaching. This is a glimpse into my personal practice, from advanced asanas in the Himalayan snow to mud baths by the Ganga. I believe a guru must embody the discipline they teach.

This is the detailed itinerary for our 3-day spiritual journey through Haridwar and Rishikesh. It outlines our schedule of Ganga Snan, temple treks, silent meditation, and practical yoga sessions, providing a clear structure for your sadhana.

To maintain the sanctity and focus of the retreat, we adhere to a strict code of conduct. This includes following ashram rules, observing a sattvic diet, and maintaining discipline, ensuring an environment conducive to deep spiritual work for all participants.

The path of yoga connects people from all over the world. Here is a practitioner from Argentina sharing her experience of practicing with us by the Ganga river in Rishikesh. Her words reflect the universal peace that this practice brings.

About Featured

This retreat is for those committed to spiritual growth, not for casual vacationers. You will be staying in an authentic ashram or budget hotel in the Haridwar-Rishikesh belt, with communal sattvic meals and a schedule packed with Ganga Snan, Maun Sadhana, and temple treks. If you are looking for a resort-style stay with luxury amenities, this experience is not the right fit for your expectations.

A Serious Yatra, Not a Holiday

When I say this is a retreat, I mean it in the traditional sense of a yatra—a pilgrimage. The environment is one of strict discipline and maryada (decorum). We start early, eat simple vegetarian food, and limit phone usage to ensure your focus stays inward.

What to Expect

  • Authentic Environment: You will be staying in traditional ashrams or local guesthouses. Expect shared dormitories if you choose the base package, or private rooms if you upgrade.
  • Deep Practices: We move beyond basic asanas into Maun Sadhana (silent meditation), guided Naad Yog sessions, and sacred fire ceremonies (Yagya).
  • The Geography of Sadhana: We trek to sacred sites like Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi, and participate in Ganga Snan to connect with the energy of the river.

Rules for Participation

We maintain a focused environment for every batch. This is why we have strict guidelines:

  • No casual participants: This is not for families with kids or those looking for a tourist break.
  • Dress Code: We require you to wear appropriate Indian ashram attire. Jeans, shorts, and western wear are not permitted during the retreat.
  • Punctuality: The schedule is fixed. Whether it is morning meditation or evening Aarti, you are expected to be on time.

Why Join Us?

I created this modern gurukul because I saw a gap in how yoga is taught today. We combine the ancient science of breath with the practical reality of our modern, often polluted, environment. You are not just coming to do yoga; you are coming to learn how to adapt your internal practice to survive and thrive in the world you return to.

My name is Dr. Shivam Mishra. I don’t run a travel agency; I run a modern gurukul. I teach the science of breath and soul training because I believe authentic yoga is about discipline, not just aesthetics.
