Real yoga is not just about stretching the body; it is about training your soul. Join our daily sessions where ancient discipline meets modern science to build physical stamina and mental clarity.

A large group of practitioners engages in an asana class under my supervision. We focus on correct alignment and mindful movement, ensuring that even in a group setting, each individual's practice is safe and effective.

We begin our morning sessions with Pranamasana, offering our respect to the sun and the sacred space around us. This outdoor practice in the fresh morning air energizes the body and prepares the mind for the day's sadhana.

As the sun rises, our students move through a sequence of asanas in a serene outdoor setting. Practicing during the Brahma Muhurta, or the pre-dawn hours, is a powerful way to deepen your connection to your practice.

A practitioner sits in Ardha Padmasana for meditation, focusing on her breath to calm the mind. Regular meditation is a cornerstone of our teaching, helping to manage conditions like anxiety by cultivating inner peace.

A student practices meditation in a park, demonstrating that the tools of yoga can be used anywhere to find tranquility. This practice of quieting the mind is especially beneficial for respiratory health and overall well being.

About Daily Sadhana: Asana & Meditation

You will notice one thing immediately: we do not just stretch. Every movement is synced with your breath to ensure your nervous system stays calm, not just your muscles. If you are looking for a casual session to pass time, this is not it. We train the soul, which means showing up with intent. If you have been struggling to find a consistent practice that balances physical posture with mental stillness, this daily discipline is the structure you are missing.

The Science of Your Daily Sadhana

Most people practice yoga as a form of physical exercise, but at SKM Yoga, we view Asana as a foundation for Sadhana—a dedicated spiritual journey. My approach is rooted in the understanding that the body and mind are not separate. When you practice, you are not just working on flexibility; you are managing your internal energy.

Why Breath is the Foundation

I often tell my students that if they could control their breath, they could control their lives. Our daily sessions focus on pranayama and the science of breath to regulate the nervous system. Whether we are practicing on the ghats of the Ganges at Brahma Muhurta (pre-dawn hours) or holding sessions in a local park, the goal remains the same: to move from a place of awareness, not just habit.

What to Expect in Our Sessions

  • Intentional Movement: We do not rush through flows. You will be guided through alignment and breath synchronization.
  • Discipline over Comfort: This is a serious space. We maintain strict decorum and encourage students to treat their mats as a sacred space for personal growth.
  • Modification for the Modern Era: Ancient techniques need to be adapted for modern lives and environments. I teach you how to modify your practice based on your physical needs and the environmental realities of where you live.

Whether you are joining our residential retreats in Haridwar and Rishikesh or attending our guided online sessions, you are here to learn how to be your own teacher.
