To fire up the metabolism, I guide my students through dynamic sequences that include poses like Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and Shalabhasana (Locust Pose). These asanas strengthen the core and improve digestive fire.
The Balancing Table Pose, or Dandayamana Bharmanasana, is excellent for stabilizing the core and improving digestion. It creates a gentle massage for the abdominal organs, aiding in the detoxification process.
The Cat-Cow pose, or Marjaryasana-Bitilasana, is a fundamental part of my detox programs. This fluid movement warms up the spine and helps to release bloating and constipation by stimulating the entire digestive tract.
Here, in the 'Cow' part of the Cat-Cow flow, the gentle backbend opens the chest and abdomen. This improves circulation to the digestive organs, which is crucial for effective detoxification and weight management.
Proper form is key to receiving the full benefits of any asana. Here I demonstrate the full extension in the Balancing Table Pose, which engages the entire body and supports a healthy metabolism.
In the 'Cat' pose, rounding the spine helps to release tension from the back and gently compress the abdomen. This movement is part of the Shatkarma cleansing process, helping to eliminate toxins.

- Metabolic Yoga: My sequences prioritize postures like Bhujangasana and Shalabhasana to stimulate digestive fire (Agni), which is often sluggish in those struggling with weight management.
- Ayurvedic Support: We utilize Udwarthanam (herbal scrub) and steam therapies to mobilize fat stores and improve circulation, making the weight loss process feel like a healing journey rather than a struggle.
