Satsang: Group Meditation and Chanting in Dwarka
Join our weekly community gathering to find stillness through silent meditation, traditional Kirtan, and shared spiritual energy in the heart of Dwarka.
A look inside one of our satsang gatherings. Satsang, meaning 'association with the wise', is the heart of our yoga practice, bringing newcomers and experienced practitioners together for meditation and chanting.

Experience the sound of our community kirtan. Devotional chanting is a key part of our satsang, using sacred sounds and mantras to create a joyful and meditative state.

About Satsang: Group Meditation & Chanting
We keep these sessions simple and accessible. You will start with 30 minutes of silent meditation in our 2nd-floor hall, followed by call-and-response kirtan using our Sivananda chant book. No prior experience is needed, and we provide all cushions and mats, so just bring an open heart and comfortable clothes for sitting.
Satsang, meaning 'association with the wise', is the heartbeat of our spiritual community at the Dwarka centre. Whether you are new to the practice or have been meditating for years, the collective energy makes it significantly easier to settle the mind compared to solitary practice at home.
What happens in our sessions? The structure is consistent to help you build a rhythm. We begin with 20 to 30 minutes of strictly silent meditation. This is not guided imagery; it is a space for you to sit with your own breath and stillness. We provide clean dhurries and meditation cushions in our hall, so you only need to arrive a few minutes early to settle in. Following meditation, we move into 30 to 45 minutes of Kirtan. We use the Sivananda Chant Book for call-and-response Sanskrit chanting, accompanied by live harmonium and manjira (hand cymbals). It is an immersive experience that often leaves attendees feeling lighter.
Philosophy and Rituals Every session concludes with a 15-minute reading from yogic scriptures or a discussion on philosophy. It brings the teachings of Swami Vishnudevananda into a practical context. We end with a traditional Ganga Arati light ceremony and distribute sweet prasad like Suji Halwa or fruit.
Practical details for newcomers These sessions are donation-based (typically ₹0–₹200). We encourage you to walk in, join the circle, and feel the energy without any formalities. It is an open space for everyone in Delhi NCR looking to balance their daily life with positive, spiritual practice.
