About Sunday Satsang & Group Meditation
We meet weekly at the Rotary Club in Indiranagar and our center in Halasuru to practice stillness together. You do not need any prior experience to join us; simply come as you are to sit, chant, and meditate. We usually provide floor cushions, but feel free to bring your own meditation shawl if you prefer.
What to Expect at Our Satsang
Our Sunday gatherings are designed as a sanctuary to help you unplug from the week and reconnect with your inner self. Each session typically flows through three distinct parts:
- Kirtan: We begin with 20 to 30 minutes of devotional chanting. The harmonium and rhythmic singing help calm the mental chatter and open the heart.
- Guided Meditation: We follow this with a period of meditation, ranging from 15 to 45 minutes. Whether you are new to the practice or a seasoned Kriyaban, there is a collective strength in meditating as a group that makes going deep easier.
- Spiritual Discourse: We conclude with an inspiring talk based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda or Swami Kriyananda, offering practical wisdom that you can take into your daily life.
Coming Together
We believe in the power of 'satsang'—gathering for truth. Following our meditation, we usually share 'prasad' (blessed sweets or light refreshments). This is a relaxed time to meet fellow seekers, ask questions, or simply enjoy the company of other 'gurubhais' in a judgment-free space.
Practical Details
- Venue: We rotate between the Rotary Club in Indiranagar and our center at Ananda Yoga Kendra in Halasuru. Please check our event calendar for the specific location this week.
- Pricing: These gatherings are open to all and run on a voluntary donation basis to support center upkeep.
- Attire: Wear comfortable, modest clothing that allows you to sit cross-legged on the floor, though chairs are available if you have trouble sitting on the ground.
