About Karate in Schools: Nurturing Young Talent

We treat our school programs with the same rigor as our Honbu Dojo. Whether it is part of the PE curriculum or an after-school activity, every session follows the authentic Shorin-ryu Shorinkan syllabus we bring directly from Okinawa. You get instructors who are personally certified and authorized by me, ensuring that discipline and safety are never compromised, even in a large school group.

Our school partnerships are built on a simple premise: martial arts is a life skill, not just a physical activity. Over the last 30 years, we have transitioned from a small group in Bannerghatta to partnering with over 200 schools and apartment complexes, bringing structured training to thousands of students annually.

Why Choose Our School Program?

  • Consistent Syllabus: We do not dilute our training for school environments. Students learn Kihon (basics), Kata (forms), and Kumite (sparring) using the same technical standards applied in our main dojos.
  • Structured Progress: We integrate our formal belt ranking system into the school program. Students work towards regular grading examinations, allowing them to earn their colored belts, which are officially recognized by the OSK Federation.
  • Certified Instructors: Every school program is led by a black belt instructor who has trained under my direct supervision. We prioritize not just technical proficiency, but also the ability to manage and motivate groups of students effectively.
  • Values-Based Learning: Beyond the kicks and punches, we emphasize the core principles of karate: respect, focus, and perseverance. These are the traits that help children perform better both inside and outside the classroom.

We provide all the necessary infrastructure support, including uniform coordination and syllabus tracking, so your school can run a seamless, high-quality program.

I founded the OSK Federation in 1992 with 14 students. Today, my instructors and I are proud to bring that same commitment to authenticity and discipline into schools across the country, teaching children that karate is a journey they can commit to for life.
