I turn your family photos into permanent, raw art. Using a small blood sample as the medium, I create deeply personal portraits that capture your bond with loved ones or pets.

About this collection

When you commission a family or pet portrait, you are not just getting a drawing. I use a small sample of your own blood to create a deep, sepia-toned finish that lasts on paper. You will need to provide 2 to 4ml of blood in an EDTA vial, which I treat and apply to 300 GSM cold-press paper to capture the intricate textures of hair, skin, and fur that define your connection.

The Process

Creating a blood portrait is an intimate process. It starts when you send me a high-resolution reference photo. Whether it is a multi-generational family portrait or a snapshot with your pet, I break down the composition and sketch the outlines. You will need to arrange for a 2-4ml blood sample in an EDTA vial from a local pathology lab. Once I have the sample, I treat it with anticoagulants to ensure it maintains its integrity and rich, reddish-brown hue over time.

Why Blood Art?

This is not standard ink. When applied to 300 GSM cold-press watercolor paper, blood oxidizes naturally, resulting in a distinct sepia or rust-red tone that no synthetic paint can replicate. It creates a piece that feels like a literal extension of your family history. Every portrait is finished with a UV-resistant sealant to protect the organic medium, ensuring the piece stands the test of time.

Safety and Hygiene

I treat every project with professional care. I work with medical-grade gloves and sterilized equipment throughout the collection and painting phase. There is no risk to the artwork or the subject. The final portrait is framed in a reinforced synthetic black frame, ready to hang. Whether you want to include calligraphy like 'Ninnage Preethi' (For you, love) for a wedding special or just want a raw, minimalist sketch, I work closely with you to get the details right.
