About Grand Sculptures & Panels
These grand sculptures are not mass-produced, so they require thoughtful planning for installation. Because they are carved from solid hardwood and can weigh up to 35 kg, we coordinate specialized wooden crating and shipping for every order. When choosing a piece of this scale, ensure your wall or floor space has the structural capacity to support the weight, and plan to have a local carpenter assist with the bolt anchoring upon delivery.
The Art of Thammampatty
Our work is not just about wood; it is about preserving the ancient carving traditions of Thammampatty. As GI-certified artisans, we adhere to time-honored techniques that machines simply cannot replicate. Each panel and statue, from the 7-foot Meenakshi Thirukalyanam to our 8-foot Lord Venkateswara sculptures, is shaped using hand-chisels. This process creates the depth and rounded details that define high-relief temple carvings.
Choosing Your Centerpiece
When selecting a grand panel or statue, consider the narrative you want to bring into your space. Our Dasavatharam and Meenakshi Thirukalyanam panels serve as historical narratives, while our deity statues, such as Lord Balaji or Goddess Saraswathi, act as focal points for prayer rooms or entryways. We offer these in natural raw wood, classic wax brown, or polychrome painted finishes to suit your interior theme.
Care and Installation
Because we use seasoned Vagai and country wood, our pieces are naturally robust. However, they are living works.
- Installation: Due to the weight of our larger pieces (15–35 kg), we install heavy-duty metal hooks on the back. We strongly recommend using professional bolt anchoring rather than standard nails for wall mounts.
- Maintenance: Dust your pieces gently with a soft cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive chemicals, as these can damage the hand-applied wax or paint finishes.
- Customization: If you need a specific size or a unique mythological scene carved for a dedicated alcove or entryway, reach out to us. We build our heritage to fit your home.
