About Architectural Brackets

We carve these from seasoned solid hardwood, so they are sturdy, but keep in mind they are designed as architectural accents rather than heavy load-bearing supports for stone shelves. Each pair arrives with heavy-duty keyhole hooks at the back for flush wall mounting, but you will need to bolt them directly into the wall to ensure they remain secure.

Our architectural brackets are a direct reflection of the temple architecture tradition found in Thammampatty. Every piece is GI-certified, meaning the carving style, technique, and historical authenticity are documented and protected.

Why Our Brackets Are Unique

Unlike machine-made decor, our brackets are shaped by hand-chisels. When you look closely at our Yaali (mythical lion) or Annapakshi (divine swan) motifs, you will see depth and character that only manual carving can achieve. We use seasoned hardwood like Vagai or Country Wood, which is chemically treated to prevent termites and shrinkage, ensuring these pieces last for generations.

Choosing Your Design & Finish

  • Size Matters: We offer standard sizes from 12 inches for smaller shelving to 24 inches for larger statement doorways.
  • The Finish: If you want a traditional, understated look, we recommend our antique wax polish, which highlights the wood grain. For a festive or temple-like atmosphere, our polychrome (hand-painted) finish uses vibrant colors that bring out the intricate details of the figures.

Installation Tips

Because these are solid wood, they carry significant weight. Each pair is fitted with metal keyhole hooks. For the best result, we suggest using wall anchors appropriate for your wall type (brick, concrete, or wood). If you are placing them around a door frame or as a shelf bracket, consider the orientation—we ensure the left and right brackets are mirrored to provide visual symmetry.

We ship these directly from our workshop in Salem to your doorstep. Because every bracket is carved to order, please account for the time required for our carvers to finish the details before we crate and ship them to you.
