Grooming: For Comfort, Not Just Looks

Dog grooming at Second Home isn’t just about a neat haircut. I see it as therapy for my bachhas (kids), a way to help them feel safe, loved, and healthy. Every dog that walks in gets treated like part of our parivaar (family).

For Every Bachha, No Matter What

• Puppies on their first grooming trip
• Senior dogs needing gentle hands
• Anxious or ‘touchy’ dogs, even those who’ve had bad past experiences
• Heavily matted coats that need careful attention
• All breeds, from tiny to giant, Indies too

What Happens in a Grooming Session

• Thorough bath and dry (sometimes two rounds of shampoo if needed)
• Medicated or spa baths for skin issues
• Breed-specific dog haircut styles and safe mat removal
• Pawdicure: slow, careful nail trimming and grinding
• Ear and eye cleaning to prevent infection
• Basic dental care
• Tick and flea grooming treatment if needed
• Every dog gets a cute bow-tie or bandana for a finishing touch

My Way: Patience, Not Pressure

If a dog’s scared or snappy, I take it slow. I’ve managed to groom dogs others have refused, using patience and understanding. For pet parents: start handling your pup’s paws, ears, and face early. It really helps.
