This is the story of Sky, a Husky I rescued during the pandemic. He was abused and scared, but with time and love, he has become a confident, sweet, and happy boy. His story is a plea to never abandon your pets.

Sunday vibes at the shelter. A couch full of dogs is a common sight here. They have learned to share space and live together in harmony.

The bed is another popular spot for a group nap. This shows the level of comfort and trust our rescue dogs feel in this environment. They know they are safe here.

About A Day in Our Life: The Second Home Family

When you step into our HSR Layout center, you won't see enclosures. You see a pack. Whether it is a senior Golden Retriever healing from a past life or an Indie pup learning to trust, our dogs live on shared beds and open floors. It takes time for new guests to adjust to this social flow, so we don't rush the transition. We keep a close eye on body language, ensuring everyone, from the nervous rescues to the playful seniors, feels like they belong here.
