About this collection
The decision to use a mezzanine level was critical here, allowing us to separate the office and warehouse functions while preserving a high-ceilinged, open-plan atmosphere. By installing black metal grid partitions with acoustic-rated glass, we ensured that the team remains visually connected to the operations below without sacrificing the quiet environment necessary for focused administrative work.
Industrial design often risks becoming sterile, but here we applied our 'Devrai' principle—respecting the environment and the people within it. The challenge was to marry a 5,000 sq ft office with a working warehouse. We utilized a mezzanine level to double the usable area without encroaching on the ground-level machinery flow.
The black metal grid partitions with acoustic glass serve a dual purpose: they provide executive privacy while ensuring natural light from the lofty industrial roof permeates every corner of the workstation area. For the flooring, we opted for polished concrete (IPS), a durable, low-maintenance solution that complements the raw, honest materials of the structure. Every element, from the column-free open plan to the geometric lighting, was selected to foster productivity while respecting the building’s functional roots. Whether you are looking to retrofit an existing shed or planning a new greenfield project, our approach centers on long-term utility, local material sourcing, and designs that encourage visual connectivity.
