Large-Scale & Conceptual Oil Paintings
Bringing stories to life on a grand scale. I create museum-quality, conceptual canvases—up to 7 feet—that explore identity, mythology, and the human condition for your home or workspace.
My award-winning 7x5 feet oil painting, "Knitting her thoughts." This piece explores the intersection of Western classicism and Indian identity.
This large 5-foot acrylic painting, based on a famous sculpture, was created live at the Thane Art Festival. It shows my ability to work on a large scale and engage with historical themes.
Titled "Confused," this 6x4 feet oil painting reflects my own state of mind during its creation. It's a personal piece about the indecision we all face.
"Sadhana," an oil on canvas painting inspired by my grandparents and my spiritual upbringing. It represents the passing of spiritual consciousness through generations.
"Amma," a large 5x4 feet oil painting. This is a powerful full-figure portrait that aims to capture the subject's strong presence and character.
My award-winning painting, "Contrast of life." This work juxtaposes a live model with a classical sculpture to explore themes of time and the human condition.
My painting "Bachelor," which won the realistic figurative award from The Art Society of India. It's an oil painting capturing a candid moment of daily life.
"Solitude," an oil painting depicting a quiet, introspective moment. I enjoy creating narrative scenes that tell a story about the subject's inner world.
"Layers of Identity," a conceptual oil portrait. This piece experiments with combining a realistic portrait with abstract and symbolic background elements.

About Large-Scale & Conceptual Canvases
When we commit to a large-scale piece, say 4-feet or 7-feet wide, the logistics matter as much as the art. I paint these on high-grade linen, but I ship them rolled in a heavy-duty PVC tube to ensure safety. This means you will need to arrange for stretching and framing at your location, which allows you to choose a frame that perfectly fits your interior style.
My approach to large-scale work is an extension of my training at the Sir J.J. School of Art. It is not just about covering a wall; it is about building a narrative that commands attention. Whether you are looking for a piece exploring historical themes, spiritual abstractions, or complex figurative compositions like my award-winning 'Knitting her thoughts', I treat every commission as a deep exploration.
The Process
Working on a large canvas requires discipline. For these commissions, I start with 2-3 preliminary sketches and color studies. We align on the composition before the brush hits the linen. During the process, I share weekly updates so you are part of the journey as the piece evolves.
Why Linen Matters
For statement pieces, durability is non-negotiable. I use heavy-grain museum-grade linen. It holds the impasto strokes and oil textures better than standard canvas, ensuring that the work remains a permanent fixture in your space for decades.
Customization
I am comfortable going up to 7 feet. Because of the size, these paintings are created to be the focal point of a room. If you have a specific theme in mind—be it mythological narratives or modern social commentary—we can discuss the conceptual direction. Since I work from Mumbai, I can coordinate directly on requirements, and I ship securely across India. If you are ready to explore a big idea, let's talk about the vision.
