Large-Scale Custom Canvas Art Commissions
Transform your walls into a centerpiece. I create massive, hand-painted canvases—some stretching over 7 feet—that bring stories, spirituality, and heritage into your living space.
The final reveal of my 6 by 7-foot commissioned artwork, "Ancient Science of Healing." This piece depicts the ancient traditions of Indian medicine, showing a Vaidya and his students.
A work-in-progress video of the "Ancient Science of Healing" painting. Here, I am focusing on the details of the skeleton and the student taking notes, building the narrative layer by layer.
This video shows more details coming to life on the large Ayurveda-themed canvas. I am working on the background architecture and the figures of the female students, ensuring each element contributes to the story.
A close-up look at the painting process for the "Ancient Indian Medicine" commission. You can see how I build up colors on the figure's face and earring, starting from a detailed pencil grid on the canvas.
My first large commission work, a 6 by 7.5-foot portrait of Maharshi Ved Vyas. This video shows the final piece, a tribute to the great sage whose wisdom is immortal.
Here I am, sitting on the floor, completely absorbed in painting the robes and figure of Maharshi Ved Vyas. Working on a canvas of this size requires immense focus and physical effort.
The beginning stages of another large 3 by 7-foot commission, "From Guru to Disciple." This video shows me preparing the canvas and starting the initial layers of paint for the figures.
This time-lapse shows the initial drawing phase for the "Guru to Disciple" painting. I start with a simple outline on the large canvas, establishing the composition of the guru teaching his students in a gurukul setting.
A close-up of my brushwork on the "Ayurveda knowledge from Acharya" painting. I am carefully detailing the face of one of the disciples, bringing his attentive expression to life with acrylics.
About Epic Canvases: Large-Scale Custom Art
When you commission a piece this size, it is a significant commitment. Because I work in such intricate detail—often spending over 50 hours on a single 7-foot canvas—I only take on a limited number of these large projects at a time to ensure the quality of every brushstroke stays exactly where it needs to be.
Whether you have a specific scene in mind or want to capture a piece of history, like my recent Maharshi Ved Vyas tribute or Ayurveda-themed works, the process begins with your vision. I use high-quality heavy-body acrylics and archival materials that are rated for longevity.
For a 6x7 foot piece, I don’t just paint; I build the narrative layer by layer, starting with a precise pencil grid on the canvas to ensure the composition is balanced before I ever touch a brush to paint. From there, I develop the figures and backgrounds, ensuring the lighting and expressions are just right. This is a slow, dedicated process. It usually requires 2-3 weeks for creation and the necessary drying time to ensure the varnish sets properly. If you are looking to fill a large empty wall with something that feels personal, grounded, and made specifically for your home, let's talk about the theme, the space you have, and how we can bring your idea to life.

I'm Neelam. For me, painting isn't just work, it is shradha (devotion). I pour my heart into every brushstroke, whether I'm recreating ancient wisdom or a modern portrait, because I know this piece will live on your wall for years to come.
