About Fine Art & Commissioned Paintings
What Drives Me
Art is action. I believe in kaam karte raho (just keep working) - no excuses, just discovery and dedication. My years at Sir J. J. School of Art laid the groundwork for how I approach every piece, whether it's a commissioned portrait or a big conceptual painting.
What I Paint
I make commissioned portraits in oils - these aren't just faces, they're personalities. If you want a custom oil portrait painting, I can work from your photos or even live sittings, whatever suits you. Landscapes and Mumbai cityscape paintings are a big part of my work too. I love capturing places, especially with watercolours or acrylics, to get that play of light and vibe.
Sometimes I go big - literally. Large scale conceptual artwork is my jam, especially if you want something that says more than just looks pretty. My award-winning piece, 'Knitting her thoughts', is one example of that scale and depth.
How I Work
My process is a mix of discipline and gut feeling. Kabhi kabhi (sometimes), I jump straight onto the canvas with no sketch, letting things evolve. That’s where the real fun is. For portraits, I’m very particular about accuracy - high-quality photos help, but live sittings are a different energy.
Mediums & Techniques
I use oils for texture and longevity, acrylics for versatility, and watercolours when I want atmosphere. Bold brushwork and impasto give my paintings their depth. If you want something huge for your wall, I’m comfortable going up to 7 feet and more. Usme hi maza hai (that's where the joy is).

My Story
Hi, Sanket here. JJ School of Art, Mumbai - that’s been my base. Wahi sab kuch seekha (learned everything there). Art’s never been a lonely thing for me. My English-speaking friends, our broken angrezi (English), and our growing group - that’s how I grew. Outside college, I wander. Hampi, Lepakshi, old stones, Vijayanagara history - all that ends up in my work. MFA done, but the sketching, painting, that won’t ever stop. Yeh safar chalta rahega (this journey goes on).
My Work
Painting & Portrait Services - I paint portraits, landscapes, and take custom portrait commission work. Oil, acrylic, watercolor - sab chalta hai (I use all).
Live Painting Demonstration - I do live painting demonstration at events, festivals. Big canvas or tiny sketchbook, I’m up for it.
European Antique Fusion - Mixing European antique forms with Indian models, my art is a blend. I let the work speak.
Spontaneous Watercolor Study - Sometimes I skip pre-sketches and paint straight, keeping things fresh and intuitive.
Personal & Commercial Practice - Commercial kaam chalu hai (commercial work is on), but my personal practice never stops.
