About Combat Postpartum Hair Fall
Hair fall after delivery is often linked to stress and poor circulation, not just hormones. In my sessions, we focus on specific inversions like the Shoulder Stand and Downward-Facing Dog. These poses naturally increase blood flow to your scalp, which helps nourish hair follicles. I combine this with quick Pranayama, which settles the nervous system—a huge factor in stopping excess shedding.
When I went through my own postpartum journey, the sight of hair on my brush was disheartening. I know that feeling. The good news is that your body responds quickly when you give it the right care. You do not need hours in the gym; you need consistency and the right movements.
Why Yoga Works for Hair Growth
Hair health is tied to how you feel inside. Stress, lack of sleep, and poor circulation can all lead to thinning. My routines are designed to tackle these three areas:
- Improving Circulation: Poses like Camel Pose and Forward Folds guide blood flow toward the head. When your scalp gets more oxygen-rich blood, the roots get stronger.
- Managing Stress: High cortisol levels are a major cause of hair loss. Simple breathing practices like Nadi Shodhan (alternate nostril breathing) act as a reset button for your mind.
- Nutritional Support: While yoga helps, I also guide you on simple additions like soaking fenugreek seeds (methi dana) overnight. It is a tiny step that makes a real difference.
My Daily Routine
I keep it simple so you can do it even with a baby in the house. We start with Sukshm Vyayam to warm up, then move into poses that stimulate the scalp. You do not need to be a pro. We start where you are, using modifications if you are still recovering from a C-section or are just feeling stiff.
Consistency is the only secret. If you can take out 10 minutes, your body will thank you. Chalo shuru karte hain.
