About Dominant Defensive Skills
Defense is not just about brute strength, it is about timing and anticipation. We focus on teaching our players to read the raider’s movement before they even strike. Whether it is a perfectly timed Dash or a tight Double Thigh Hold, these skills are the difference between a point conceded and a match-winning Super Tackle.
At Sadbhavna Kabaddi Academy, we believe offense gets the glory, but defense wins matches. Our training is designed to build a wall that raiders fear. We break down defensive play into fundamental, repeatable movements that work under intense tournament pressure.
Key Focus Areas
- The Chain: We drill coordination above all else. When one defender moves, the whole chain must move. You will learn to close gaps and support your teammates instantly, ensuring no raider gets through the line.
- Precision Moves: You will master the 'Dash' to physically force raiders out of bounds and the 'Double Thigh Hold' to secure them on the mat. These are not random grabs. They are calculated techniques based on leverage, balance, and speed.
- Surface Training: Defensive requirements change based on the surface. We train on traditional mud courts for raw, gritty resistance and on standard EVA mats for speed and precision. This dual-surface training ensures our players are ready for any tournament condition, from local mud matches to formal district and state championships.
We do not look for shortcuts. We look for players who are ready to put in the hours, practice the drills, and develop the mental toughness to hold the line when the game is on the line.
