For me, yoga isn’t just poses - it’s about using the body and breath to actually get to know yourself. My retreats are a space to find your own light, like the old saying goes, "Appa deepo bhava" (be a light unto yourself). We’re not escaping life here, just learning to show up for it with more presence.
You won’t just be on your mat. Here’s what we do:
I teach dynamic "Flow Yoga" - every posture connects to the breath. It’s for all levels. You listen to your body, not force it. If you’re up for it, we work toward advanced stuff like arm balances and backbends, but it’s always slow and steady. My style is - "Karat karat abhyas ke, jadmati hot sujan" (Even a fool grows wise with practice).
We chill together for Satsang (group talks). Sometimes we dive into yogic wisdom from texts like the Bhagavad Gita, but it’s more conversation than lecture. Helps make sense of what happens off the mat too.
I pick places with real energy. Past retreats have been in Varanasi’s Yogashala and in the quiet mountains of Maharashtra. Every spot is chosen to help you unplug and look inward.
