This 5000 sqft luxury home balances raw, honest materials with a minimalist aesthetic. We focused on texture and light to create a space that feels deeply connected to nature.

The foyer sets a tranquil tone with a beautiful Buddha sculpture, set against a backdrop of richly textured marble. The design provides a glimpse into the powder room, hinting at the home's cohesive material palette.

A closer look at the foyer console. We used dramatic backlighting to highlight the natural patterns in the stone wall, turning it into a piece of art.

The main corridor features a continuous wooden ceiling and paneling that conceals a traditional temple. This allows for a seamless transition between the contemporary living spaces and the sacred puja area.

With the doors open, the intricately carved traditional temple is revealed, creating a stunning contrast with the modern lines of the corridor.

A video walkthrough of the main living areas, showcasing the open-plan layout, the warm material palette, and the seamless integration of the traditional temple.

The open-plan living and dining area is the social heart of the home. We used low-slung leather armchairs to create a conversation zone without obstructing the view.

The dining area features a custom table with a sculptural metal base and elegant wooden chairs, positioned to enjoy views of the outdoors.

About this collection

In this 5000 sqft home, the success of the layout lies in how we managed transitions. For example, we used continuous wooden ceiling paneling to conceal a traditional puja unit within the corridor, allowing the home to switch from a modern social space to a private, sacred area without breaking the visual line.

Our approach to 'The Rustica' was driven by the desire to use honest materials that age gracefully. We relied on a palette of Italian marble, quartzite, and fluted wood to build depth. Instead of filling the rooms with excess furniture, we prioritized breathing room, letting the raw stone and timber textures define the atmosphere.

The Social Heart

The open kitchen and dining area act as the social core. We used a quartzite island as a focal point, pairing it with low-slung leather seating that keeps the sightlines clear. This setup ensures that the kitchen feels like a part of the living experience rather than a separate, closed-off room.

Lighting and Texture

In the family room, which we nicknamed the 'Solar Eclipse' room, we focused on tactile details. We installed three back-lit stone discs against a fluted wood wall, creating a soft, warm glow that makes the room feel intimate in the evenings. This project highlights our philosophy that luxury isn't about expensive finishes alone—it is about how light, material, and layout interact to make a 5000 sqft apartment feel like a home.

Practical Design Choices

We avoid the showroom aesthetic by focusing on your rhythm. In this project, that meant blending high-end hardware and appliances with grounded, natural finishes. Whether it is concealed storage that merges into the wall paneling or the specific placement of art to create focal points, every decision is made to ensure the space remains functional, bright, and welcoming.
