About this collection
We don't just run up slopes. Our sessions combine high-intensity hill sprints with bodyweight calisthenics—think squats, burpees, and planks—right there on the pavement. This mix builds the explosive leg power you need for trail events without ever stepping foot inside a gym.
Why Hill Training? It's the fastest way to improve your running economy. By attacking inclines, you force your body into a stronger posture, increase your VO2 max, and build the kind of glute and quad strength that flat road running just can't offer.
Our Approach to Inclines
At Road To Trail Club (RTC), we keep it functional. If we're at Cubbon Park, we're hitting the specific slopes that mimic the stress of race-day climbs. If we're prepping for events like the Malnad Ultra, we're hitting Nandi Hills to get your legs used to real elevation gain.
More Than Just Legs
It's not a lonely grind. You’ll be doing hill repeats alongside our crew and, more often than not, a few of our resident parkies—the local stray dogs—pacing us up the climb. We focus on form correction and cadence, making sure you aren't just working hard, but working smart.
Consistent Gains
Consistency is the only secret. We run Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings at 5:30 AM sharp. We make sure the work gets done before the city traffic even begins. Whether you are prepping for your first 10k or chasing an ultra marathon podium, our hill sessions provide the intensity you need to break your personal bests.
Road To Trail Club
I'm Sujith. I started RTC to swap boring gym treadmills for fresh air and real community in the streets of Bengaluru. We train hard, but whether it’s hill sprints or long runs, the vibe is always about pushing each other and sharing a laugh—and a chai—after.
