Modern Entryway and Passage Designs
Your home's entrance is the first chapter of your design story. I create custom entryways that blend smart, hidden storage with elegant lighting to make every homecoming feel special.
I designed this entryway to be highly functional. It features a built-in bench with seating for putting on shoes, concealed storage below, and an arched mirror. The pastel green accent and under-cabinet lighting create a bright and welcoming atmosphere.
This is a concept for a modern main door, playing with a two-tone effect in olive green and beige. The vertical black slats on the door and the custom backlit nameplate add a layer of contemporary sophistication.
This passage is anything but boring. I used a statement tropical wallpaper on the ceiling to draw the eye upward and create a 'wow' moment. The soft mint green walls, fluted paneling, and arched doorway motif continue the gentle, modern aesthetic.
Looking down the hallway, you can see how the arched wall moldings echo the shape of the doorway, creating a sense of rhythm and flow. The marble flooring adds a touch of luxury that connects the entire space.
This shot focuses on the custom console unit in the hallway. The simple, clean-lined cabinet with curved door details provides storage, while the statement ceiling and fluted wall add layers of designer detail.
This view shows the complete entryway design, from the custom grey door to the floating console with a Buddha statue for a serene welcome. The cove lighting in the ceiling and along the floor adds a soft, ambient glow.

In many Mumbai apartments, the entrance is often a cramped corridor that quickly becomes cluttered. I design these spaces to prioritize both utility and style by installing custom shoe benches that do not block the walking path. By incorporating full-length mirrors and recessed LED lighting, we can visually expand a narrow passage, making it a bright, welcoming transition into the rest of your home.
Designing a foyer requires balancing strict space constraints with the need for everyday storage. My approach starts with the layout. Even in small entryways, I fit in concealed storage like sleek, handleless shoe cabinets that blend into the wall. I often use fluted panels or arched wall moldings to add depth and texture to the space without taking up any precious floor area.
Lighting is critical here. Since most passages lack natural light, I use a combination of cove lighting and warm, ambient wall spots to make the area feel inviting. Whether it is a statement ceiling with patterned wallpaper or a simple, elegant console unit, the goal is to make the entrance feel like a deliberate part of your home's design story rather than an afterthought.
