Live Percussion for Concerts and Festivals
From massive festival grounds to high-energy concert stages, I bring the rhythm that connects the crowd. Let’s make your next big show pulse with live energy.
A wide view from the stage during a Farhan Live concert. Seeing a sea of people connected by music is the ultimate reward for any performer.
A smile on my face and sticks in my hand during a concert in Raipur with Farhan Live. My setup includes timbales and a dholak to add diverse layers of rhythm.
Playing the timbales and a large bass drum during a live concert with Asees Kaur in Jajpur. This setup is perfect for creating powerful, driving rhythms for large outdoor events.
A sundowner gig with Farhan Akhtar and the band. I'm on the congas here, providing a smooth, groovy rhythm that's perfect for an evening concert setting.
Dancing to the beat on stage with the band. A performance is not just about playing; it's about feeling the music and sharing that infectious energy with everyone.
A black and white shot capturing the intensity of a live performance. Every beat comes from the heart, and I'm completely focused on delivering a powerful show.
A lighter moment on stage, smiling as I play. My percussion setup is extensive, featuring cymbals, wood blocks, and various drums to create a rich soundscape.
About this collection
When you book me for a large-scale concert, you are not just getting a percussionist, you are getting a full 10-piece professional rig setup. This includes everything from timbales and congas to electronic Roland SPD-SX pads, all requiring a dedicated 8ft by 6ft riser to ensure the sound hits the back of the venue.
The Rhythm Behind the Headliner
A festival or large concert is about more than just the vocals. It is about the driving force behind the music. My role on the big stage is to bridge the gap between studio recordings and live performance, adding layers of texture that a backing track simply cannot replicate.
Technical Precision
Big stages come with big technical demands. To deliver the sound you hear on my tracks, my setup requires:
- Stage Space: A dedicated 8ft by 6ft riser to house the percussion rig, ensuring safety and optimal acoustics.
- Sound Engineering: A minimum of 8 to 10 input channels on your mixer to balance the hybrid acoustic-electronic sound.
- Monitor Mixes: Specific monitor sends are essential for the rhythm section to stay locked in with the band.
- Support: Every concert booking includes two technicians to handle the complexities of the setup and breakdown, so the stage is ready exactly when sound check begins.
My Setup
Whether it is an outdoor festival or an indoor arena gig, I bring a fusion of world percussion and modern electronics. You will see me alternating between traditional instruments like Congas and Bongos and modern tools like Roland electronic pads to match the energy of the headlining act. It is not just about playing the beat, it is about filling the space with sound that makes the audience move.
Rishabh Shankar
I grew up with Jaipur Gharana music in my blood, but my heart is happiest when I am on a massive stage. When I am out there performing, I am just living the dream I have had since I was a kid.
