About this collection
When I perform with a DJ, I am not just playing along to a track. I use a hybrid setup featuring a Roland Handsonic and an acoustic Djembe to improvise over house, techno, or Bollywood mixes in real-time. This adds a live, percussive layer that turns a standard playlist into a performance you can physically feel.
My approach to club sets is all about interaction. Whether I am playing at a high-energy corporate party or a late-night club event, I watch the crowd and the DJ to decide when to drop a heavy beat or add a subtle rhythmic accent. This is not just backing music. I bring a full hybrid rig that combines the organic feel of a Remo Djembe and Darbuka with the precision of electronic pads. This allows me to match the sound quality of a digital set while providing the raw energy of a live drummer.
I am based in Mumbai, but I travel across India for gigs. To make sure the sound is right, I only use professional gear like Pearl, Meinl, and Roland. If you are planning an event, we will need a 30-minute sound check to ensure the percussion is perfectly balanced with your DJ's output. I am comfortable with diverse genres, so whether your party is leaning towards commercial Bollywood, deep house, or techno, I can adapt my rhythm to fit the vibe.
Rishabh Shankar
I am Rishabh, and I grew up with the Jaipur Gharana sounds echoing at home. Now, I spend my time taking that classical training and mixing it with electronic pads and drums to get crowds moving. I love the energy of a live gig.
