For these editorial shoots, I use wind-machine compatible sprays and anti-humidity lacquers to ensure every strand stays perfect through multiple takes and long hours of camera shifts.
When you are shooting for a magazine feature or a brand campaign, the hair needs to work as hard as the model. My approach to editorial styling is built on speed, precision, and collaboration. I don't just show up and style; I work closely with the photographer and the creative team to understand the lighting and the specific angle of the frame.
Whether we are going for a sleek, high-fashion ponytail that needs to look sculpted or soft, voluminous waves for a beauty story, I adapt the texture and hold to match the vibe. Shoots can get chaotic, and that is where my on-set experience comes in. I am comfortable with rapid changeovers—switching from a vintage-inspired wave to a modern, messy updo in under 20 minutes to keep the production schedule on track.
I also keep a close watch on the monitor. If a stray hair falls out of place or the volume drops due to the heat of the studio lights, I am ready with instant touch-ups. Having worked with artists like Raveena Tandon and Harnaaz Sandhu, I understand that the hair is part of the storytelling. If the concept demands something avant-garde, I use invisible nets and structural padding to push the boundaries of what the hair can do, all while keeping the look feeling fresh and alive.
