Celebrity and Magazine Editorial Styling
Editorial styling is about building a narrative that commands attention. From high-fashion magazine covers to campaign shoots, I construct looks that bridge the gap between creative vision and visual reality.
The final cover shot for G&G Magazine's festive issue, featuring Miss India Manasa Varanasi. I styled this sequined emerald green lehenga with statement jhumkas to create a look of modern opulence.
A full-length shot from the G&G Magazine festive cover shoot with Manasa Varanasi. The flowing, sequined lehenga was chosen to create dramatic movement and a glamorous silhouette against the grand staircase.
A close-up from the magazine shoot, focusing on the details. I paired the emerald lehenga with oversized silver jhumkas to add a traditional touch to a contemporary outfit, highlighting the intricate beadwork.
Another angle from the G&G shoot, showcasing the back and side profile of the custom lehenga. The focus here was on the modern cut of the blouse and the reflective quality of the background.

About Celebrity & Magazine Features
On a magazine set, styling is a race against time and lighting. My approach centers on proactive logistics: I coordinate directly with your HMUA to ensure the color palette complements the outfit texture, and my team remains on-site to handle wardrobe malfunctions or last-minute adjustments. This level of preparation ensures the final shot reflects the vision we planned, rather than just a static outfit.
For celebrity and editorial projects, I operate under the principle that the styling must serve the story. Whether we are shooting for a publication like G&G Magazine or building a campaign for a national brand, I handle the process from the initial concept to the final frame.
My Editorial Process
- Art Direction & Concept: We start with the mood. I define the lighting references, pose direction, and the aesthetic narrative before a single garment is chosen. This aligns the styling with the publication's voice.
- Strategic Sourcing: I secure exclusive runway pieces and high-end archives that aren't available to the general public. My connections with labels like Studio Jigar Mali ensure we have access to the exact pieces needed to translate an idea into a tangible look.
- Production Rigor: A shoot is a team game. I coordinate with photographers, makeup artists, and hair stylists to ensure cohesion. During the shoot, my team and I manage the logistics, including garment preservation, jewelry mapping, and emergency wardrobe repairs.
Why it Matters
Effective editorial styling goes beyond putting clothes on a subject. It is about how the fabric moves, how the jewelry catches the light, and how the silhouette looks from different angles. When I styled Manasa Varanasi for her festive cover, the focus was on blending modern opulence with traditional elements. We combined sequins with oversized silver jhumkas to achieve a balance that felt both editorial and grounded. This same level of detail is applied whether we are shooting for a digital campaign, a print cover, or a promotional celebrity appearance.
