About Major Commissions & Recognitions
When I was commissioned to paint portraits of Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule for the Ministry Hall in Mumbai, the process required more than just technical skill. It demanded deep historical research and constant dialogue with officials to ensure the representation aligned perfectly with their legacy. This is the level of rigor and collaborative approach I bring to every major public commission or institutional project.
My work for government bodies, such as the permanent display at the Mantralaya, represents a significant part of my artistic journey. These projects are not merely about painting; they are about documenting our 'bharatiya aitihasik sanskriti' (historical culture) in spaces where it inspires public discourse.
When you hire me for a commission or a major project, here is how I approach the work:
- Research-Led Composition: Whether it is a portrait of a freedom fighter or a mural for a city beautification project like our work on the Ramayana murals in Nashik, I begin with extensive research. Authenticity is my priority.
- Collaborative Execution: For large-scale projects, I often lead a team of artists, including my students, such as Sandeep Gangurde. This allows us to maintain artistic quality while meeting professional deadlines.
- Institutional Standards: Having worked with government departments and major media groups like Lokmat and Sakal, I understand the logistical requirements, from formal presentations to on-site project management.
My goal is always to create art that resonates with the people and stands the test of time. If you are looking for an artist to lead a significant public or private commission, I would be happy to discuss your vision, the scope of work, and how we can bring your concepts to life on canvas. 🙏🎨
