Rajesh Sawant: Art Exhibitions and Media Features
A look at the exhibitions, documentary screenings, and community recognition that highlight my journey as a fine artist and educator.
A humbling experience watching a documentary based on my life's work being screened at the Art Summit in Nandurbar. The transcript mentions some of my achievements, like being a brand ambassador for the Swachhata Abhiyan.
A newspaper clipping from the opening ceremony of our Janasthan Group's art exhibition in Nashik, which was inaugurated by Hon. Dr. B. G. Shekhar, Special Inspector General of Police.
About In the Media & At Events
When you see my work featured or exhibited, it serves as a practical example of the academic realism and disciplined technique I teach in my studio. It is my humble way of keeping our 'aitihasik sanskriti' (historical culture) alive, and I welcome you to view these pieces to understand the level of detail I expect from my students.
My work in the media is not about seeking attention; it is a record of my commitment to art education and Indian heritage. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities to share my process, whether through documentary screenings at events like the Art Summit in Nandurbar or exhibitions like the one held by the Janasthan Group in Nashik.
Art as a Public Contribution
Being recognized as a brand ambassador for the Swachhata Abhiyan by the Nashik Municipal Corporation or having my paintings permanently displayed at the Mantralaya—specifically the large-scale canvases of Mahatma Jyotiba and Savitribai Phule—is a testament to the power of art to impact society. These moments are not isolated; they are connected to the same principles of anatomy, perspective, and medium mastery that I teach in my weekly studio sessions.
Learning from the Process
When you see these media features, you are seeing the result of hours of rigorous, hands-on practice. My exhibitions often serve as a bridge, allowing students and art lovers to see the difference between casual painting and the disciplined, technique-focused approach I advocate. If you are serious about learning, these public works provide a transparent look at the standards I hold. I hope seeing this work inspires you to dedicate yourself to your own practice, and I am always open to discussing how we can work together to refine your skills.
Rajesh Sawant
I am Rajesh Sawant. My art is my 'vinamra chitra abhivadan' (humble artistic tribute) to our history, and I am truly grateful for the recognition my work has received from our state and community. Beyond the public displays, my focus remains on the Guru-Shishya bond we build in my studio.
