We design peaceful mountain homes that blend into the Himalayan landscape, using local stone and large windows to bring the outdoors inside.

The exterior of our Buransh Terraces project, a mountain home built with local stone and designed to feel like a natural extension of the Himalayan landscape. The multi-level terraces and large windows maximize the stunning views.

This bedroom at Buransh Terraces is a sanctuary of calm, with a solid wood bed, natural fiber pendants, and a large window seat perfect for watching the changing mountain light. The design is all about tranquility and connection to nature.

A close-up of the bed, showing the simple, high-quality linens and the natural textures of the woven cane headboard. Every detail is chosen to complement the serene, wabi-sabi aesthetic of the mountain retreat.

A wider view of the bedroom, showcasing the coffered ceiling and the use of natural materials like wood and stone. The color palette is intentionally muted to keep the focus on the incredible views outside.

Waking up to this view is what mountain living is all about. We designed the room to ensure the bed has a direct line of sight to the Himalayan landscape, making every morning a breathtaking experience.

A cozy reading corner in one of the bedrooms, featuring a rocking chair and large windows that frame the lush greenery. The exposed local stone wall adds a rustic and authentic touch.

A quiet moment in the mountain home. The simple wooden armchair and side table create an understated and peaceful spot to relax, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

The dining room at Buransh Terraces, where meals are enjoyed with panoramic views of the mountains. The rustic stone walls and warm wood ceiling create a cozy, cabin-like feel.

A detail of the dining room, where the window perfectly frames the mountain vista. The simple, rustic furniture allows the natural beauty outside to be the star of the show.

A window within a window, this view from the dining room looks out onto the covered terrace, creating a layered experience of the indoor and outdoor spaces.

About Mountain Retreats: Himalayan Homes

When we design for high-altitude locations, we prioritize using local stone for the exterior. This choice ensures the building withstands the mountain climate, ages naturally, and stays firmly anchored to its site. We focus on construction that lasts, creating a home that feels like it has always belonged to the landscape.
