Biophilic & Hillside Home Designs

We design homes that breathe, blending raw, earthy materials with the landscape to create peaceful, light-filled sanctuaries that feel part of the hills and forests.

This view shows the home's extensive use of glass, which opens up the interiors to the surrounding forest. The design creates a harmonious blend of architecture and nature, with earthy materials like stone and wood used throughout.

This video provides a closer look at the architectural details of the Forest House. It showcases the use of vertical wooden slats, a green wall with a circular planter, and large glass panels that reflect the surrounding trees.

About this collection

The core of our approach to these hillside homes is managing the transition between the built structure and the forest or hill terrain. We do not just add large windows; we study the sun path and local wind patterns to place each living area where it captures natural light while ensuring privacy. This means your house works with the site’s topography rather than fighting against it, allowing for natural ventilation and a home that truly feels like part of the landscape.

When we talk about biophilic design, we are not just adding plants to a living room. It is about architectural geometry that invites nature inside. For our Dehradun projects, we utilize cantilevered floors and expansive glazing to create sheltered outdoor living spaces that feel like an extension of the forest floor.

We favor materials that age gracefully. For a recent project in Jammu, we specified Gwalior mint stone for the facade because it carries the warmth of the earth and responds beautifully to the local climate. Internally, we prioritize layouts that facilitate cross-ventilation, reducing the need for constant artificial cooling.

This process requires detailed site analysis. We map the existing trees, the slope of the land, and the movement of the sun before a single line is drawn. By prioritizing these natural elements, we create homes that are not just visually striking, but functionally efficient and deeply peaceful. Whether you are planning a retirement home in the hills or a holiday villa, our focus remains on creating spaces that ground you rather than just occupying space.
