About Stage Performance & Event Choreography
Why I Love the Stage
For me, dance is about bringing people together and watching months of hard work come alive under the lights. Every time a student steps out on stage, it's a moment of pride - not just for them, but for me too. The stage is where all those long practices and sweaty rehearsals pay off.
All Ages, All Walks of Life
It doesn’t matter if you’re five or fifty. I’ve worked with tiny tots taking their first steps, professionals juggling work and practice, and even amma-amma (moms) and engineers rediscovering dance. Everybody goes at their own speed. I’m here to guide you, whenever you’re ready.
Your Performance Journey
- First up, the Salangai Pooja. It’s your big entry, wearing the bells for the first time. I’ll choreograph for you and make sure it’s memorable, whether you’re a kid or an adult.
- The Arangetram (your solo debut) is next level. I’ve helped 67 students hit this milestone. We cover the whole margam - Pushpanjali, Varnam, Thillana, the works. Most times, you get to perform with a live orchestra. It’s a grand, magical event.
- There’s more than just the big shows. Our Annual Day is a blast, with new themes every year. We also do studio concerts, temple performances, and sometimes join in public cultural event performances.
Costume & Makeup Made Simple
Getting ready for stage can feel scary, especially the makeup. I run workshops for students and parents, sometimes with our senior students leading. Everyone picks up tips, and it becomes fun after a bit.
What Matters Most
Discipline is key - I was back in class the day after my own Arangetram. My Guru was surprised, “Enna innaikke vanduttiya?” (You came today itself?). But I know each person’s journey looks different. Find your rhythm, stick with it, and don’t give up on the art.

My Story
Never thought I'd be a dance teacher, honestly. MBA in finance, banking dreams, then life threw me into teaching Bharatanatyam in America. My mom put me in dance when I was six—no drama, just routine. Learned from legends like Adyar K. Lakshman sir, every day, no breaks. Did my Arangetram at 12, showed up to class next morning, got a 'Enna innaikke vanduttiya?' from my guru (you came today itself?!). Skipped MBA finals to perform at Sathya Sai Baba’s birthday—no regrets. Dance just became home.
My Work
Bharatanatyam Classes (Online & In-Person) - We teach kids, adults, working folks—everyone. From basics to Salangai Pooja and Arangetram coaching.
Individualized Learning - No cookie-cutter lessons. I go at your pace—some rush, some chill, all grow.
Growth Beyond Dance - Arangetram isn’t just a show. It’s discipline, stamina, confidence—watching students transform is the best part.
Legacy & Tradition - I learned from Vazhuvoor style gurus. Every class, every correction, it all builds up to those big moments.
