While I prefer being out in the field to sitting in a gallery, it is rewarding to have my work acknowledged by industry experts. These recognitions validate the patience required to capture the right moment in the wild.

My photograph titled 'Jewel of Konkan', featuring an Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, was selected for exhibition by Sony's All India Corporate Photography Contest in 2022.

This image, 'Pink Traffic', capturing the dense flock of flamingos in Navi Mumbai, was also featured in the same 2022 corporate photography exhibition.

My shot of the Great Hornbills, titled 'Unconditional Love', was the third of my photographs to be selected for the exhibition, celebrating a moment of natural intimacy.

About Awards & Recognition

It takes hours of stillness to capture a moment like the 'Jewel of Konkan' or the 'Pink Traffic' of our flamingos. These awards are less about the trophy and more about the proof that the stories I tell through my lens resonate with other nature enthusiasts.

A flamingo rises above the flock, its wings spread wide against the lush backdrop of Navi Mumbai's wetlands. This shot is a celebration of life and a call to action to protect these vital urban habitats that are under constant threat.
The vibrant fan-throated lizard puts on a spectacular display in the scrublands of Maharashtra. Capturing this burst of color requires patience and an understanding of animal behavior, skills I share on my specialized expeditions.

A Glimpse into the Wild: My Photography Highlights

This is the shot I live for. The Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, a tiny bird often called the "colour bomb," with its hard-earned meal. Capturing this moment required immense patience and waiting for the perfect light to make its rainbow plumage pop against the mossy perch in Panvel, Maharashtra.8
The thrill of bird action photography is freezing a split second in time. Here, a Common Kingfisher launches from the water in Wai, Maharashtra, its reflection captured in the golden-hour glow. This shot demonstrates my ability to anticipate movement and capture the raw energy of wildlife.
There's nothing quite like the majestic presence of a Great Hornbill. I used dramatic, low-key lighting to sculpt its impressive casque and intense gaze, creating a powerful portrait that feels both intimate and grand. This was a memorable encounter in Mangaon, Maharashtra.
The Indian Paradise Flycatcher is pure elegance. This is the white morph of the species, and I framed it against a soft, earthy background in Pune to emphasize its graceful form and the incredible length of its tail feathers. It’s a testament to how I use composition to tell a story.

A truly blessed moment from my life after retirement, witnessing a tigress and her five cubs quenching their thirst at a waterhole in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. A sight like this, a full family together, is the rare reward the jungle offers to the patient observer.7
A magnificent tigress, daughter of the famous Paro of Corbett, confidently crosses the Ramganga river. This photograph, taken by my daughter-in-law Radhika on a family trip, shows the bold spirit of the tigers in this legendary park.

This Shikra, with its intense gaze fixed on me right after securing its meal, is a perfect example of the raw, unpredictable moments we seek in the wild. Capturing such a powerful story requires patience and understanding the bird's behaviour, a core principle I teach in my workshops.8
Freezing the motion of a Common Kingfisher in mid-flight is a technical challenge that brings immense satisfaction. In my field sessions, I guide you on how to master shutter speeds and panning techniques to capture these fleeting moments of aerial grace.
The vibrant colors of this Blue-throated Barbet, shot in the wild in Dehradun, show how beautiful nature can be. I found it perched on this wonderfully artistic vine, a reminder that a great photograph is as much about the environment as the bird itself.
A tender moment as a mother House Sparrow feeds her hungry chicks. My guiding philosophy is 'bird first, photo later', and witnessing such intimate behaviours is a reward in itself. These are the stories that unfold when we observe nature with respect.
