I built this space because I got tired of waiting for the right stage. Located in NRI Layout, our 80-seater black box theatre is a home for artists to perform, teach, and experiment without the usual gatekeeping.

Welcome to The Punyah Theatre! I'm standing in front of the incredible mural that greets our visitors, a vibrant piece of art that sets the creative tone for our space.

A behind the scenes look at the artwork for The Punyah Theatre. This mirror image video shows the beautiful panels being moved into place, a piece of the puzzle in building our creative home.

This poster announces our production of "Ä€bha" at The Punyah Theatre. It's a space designed for powerful storytelling, allowing us to present epic narratives in an intimate setting.

We are proud to host solo recitals by talented artists like Renjith Choorakkad. The Punyah Theatre is a platform for individual artists to shine and connect with an appreciative audience.

I believe in promoting the work of fellow artists. In this video, I share my excitement after watching the rehearsal for "Samvada," a Bharatanatyam and Kathak collaboration, and urge everyone to come and experience it at our theatre.

A glimpse of the diverse performances hosted during the Katha Festival at The Punyah Theatre. This video showcases snippets from different productions, highlighting the variety of stories we help bring to the stage.

We make our events accessible to everyone, everywhere. Here, I'm announcing the online live stream for our "Strictly Under 16" festival, so audiences can watch from home if they can't make it to The Punyah Theatre.

About this collection

Our theatre is built for the nuances of classical dance. Because it is a black box space with seating for 60 to 80 people, the audience is right there with you. You can see every expression, every mudra, and the effort on the artist's face, which is how this art form is meant to be experienced.

We wanted a space where the technical setup does not get in the way of the art. That is why the venue comes equipped with an in-house LED lighting rig and a professional audio system. You do not need to bring your own sound engineers or lighting racks.

We provide a private green room, so you have a dedicated space to prep before the curtains go up. Whether you are planning a solo Bharatanatyam recital, an experimental production, or a workshop, the infrastructure is ready for you. We also handle end-to-end ticketing support, so you can focus on the performance rather than the logistics.

We are based in Kalkere, Bangalore, and we are firm believers in accessibility. We regularly stream our events live for those who cannot make it to the theatre, widening the reach for the artists we host. If you are looking for a venue that understands the specific needs of a dancer, this is it. Let us talk about your dates and requirements.

I am Parshwanath. I spent years waiting for opportunities, so I decided to build my own stage instead. The Punyah Theatre is where my team and I create, teach, and host artists who, like me, just want to get to work.
