Hello hello! A quick intro for our new followers. Here's a bit about why we started Paper Crane Lab: to create a space for curiosity, experimentation, and fun.
What do we do at PCL? This video gives a quick overview of our two main arms: our outreach programs and our public makerspace in Bangalore.
Who is PCL? We're a small core team supported by a huge network of amazing on call facilitators who make our programs possible.
What does a day at PCL look like? It's different every day! From prototyping and teaching to writing proposals and fixing toys, it's always an adventure.

About Come Say Hello: Our Lab & Community
You do not need to be an engineer to hang out here. Our lab is a shared workshop where you can see our laser cutters and 3D printers in action, fix a broken toy, or just chat with fellow makers. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, we are all about learning by doing and having fun with the process. Come by to one of our open houses to see what we are currently building.
What is Paper Crane Lab?
We are a mix of a non-profit and a wild makerspace. We started during the pandemic to make STEM education accessible, and today, that energy lives in our physical Indiranagar lab. This isn't a traditional classroom or a rigid coworking space. It is a place for the messy, fun side of learning.
Why Visit Our Lab?
Our space is designed for anyone who is curious. When you drop by, you can:
- See the machines: Get a tour and see our 3D printers, laser cutter, and vinyl cutter in action.
- Tinker freely: If you grab a PCL Pass, you get access to our workbench, electronics tools, and woodworking gear for your own prototypes.
- Fix things: We host occasional repair days where you can bring broken toys or electronics and try to bring them back to life.
- Meet the community: Whether you are a teen, a parent, or an adult looking to learn coding, woodworking, or stop-motion, you will find like-minded people here.
Open House & Events
We host regular open houses throughout the year. These are the best times to walk in, see what we are building, and get a feel for the lab culture. We often demonstrate specific tools like our mechanical calculator or show off recent laser-cut projects. We keep our schedule updated on our profile, so follow along to see when we are hosting the next session.
