About Large-Scale Murals & Public Art
For large-scale projects, I use the traditional gridding method to scale my sketches perfectly without needing digital projectors. This process ensures your mural has an authentic, human touch where every brushstroke is visible and alive, whether I am painting a 10-foot hoarding or a complex building facade.
My approach to public art is rooted in the old-school techniques I have practiced for decades in Old Delhi. When you commission a mural, you are not getting a printed vinyl wrap. You are getting hand-mixed colors, oil-based enamels that withstand the weather for years, and typography that is lettered by hand.
My Process & Practical Details
- Surface Preparation: I work directly on your wall. For the best finish, please ensure the wall is primed or base-coated before I arrive. I handle the dusting and layout, but the base layer is your foundation.
- Scaling: I do not rely on digital prints. I use gridding to bring my designs to life on any scale, from single room walls to massive commercial hoardings.
- Scaffolding: If your project requires height beyond 8 feet, please provide the necessary scaffolding for my safety and ease of work.
- Durability: I use high-quality synthetic enamel paints. These are weather-resistant, wipeable, and designed to last 5 to 7 years outdoors, and over a decade indoors.
