Authentic Mughlai Dining in Mumbai
From film stars to the local aam aadmi, our doors are open to everyone. Whether you're visiting our historic Bhendi Bazaar spot or our new Kurla branch, you’ll find the same legendary recipes and warm welcome that have fed Mumbai since 1923.
It was a pleasure to have food writer and TV host Kunal Vijayakar visit us. He knows authentic Mughlai food, and we were happy to serve him our family's specialities.
Actress Saiee Manjrekar, daughter of Mahesh Manjrekar, visiting our Bhendi Bazaar hotel. It's wonderful to see the next generation of film families enjoying our food.
We are always happy to see friendly faces at our restaurant. Here are some of our friends and patrons visiting us during Ramadan at our Kurla and Bhendi Bazaar locations.
A table full of friends enjoying a hearty meal during Ramadan. This is what our hotel is all about, bringing people together over good food.
Another happy group of friends posing outside our hotel. We are grateful for all the love and support we receive from our patrons.
Aamir Khan and Kunal Vijayakar with our family outside the hotel. We are humbled to have hosted so many respected artists over the years.
About this collection
We don't do reservations, so come hungry and be ready for a short wait during peak hours. Whether you grab a seat in our general area or our traditional Dastarkhan family hall in Kurla, the menu remains the same: 100-year-old recipes served exactly how my great-grandfather intended.
At Noor Mohammadi, we believe food is the great equalizer. You might find a Bollywood actor sitting at the next table, but here, the real star is the slow-cooked Nalli Nihari or our signature Chicken Sanju Baba.
We haven't changed our ways in a century. Our Nihari is slow-cooked overnight until the marrow melts, and our Haleem takes 8 to 12 hours to reach the perfect consistency. You won't find fancy ambiance or a 'high-fi' experience here, because that’s not what Mughlai food is about. It is about the spice, the time, and the tradition.
Why Our Guests Keep Coming Back:
- The Original Sanju Baba: This recipe was a gift from Sanjay Dutt, and it remains one of our most requested dishes for its unique blend of whole spices.
- Traditional Cooking: From White Biryani to Yakhni Pulao, we use the old 'potli' spice method that you rarely find in modern restaurants.
- Something for Everyone: We serve the common man with the same dedication we show to guests who travel from across the city.
Whether you are looking for a quick meal at our historic Bhendi Bazaar hotel or a relaxed family dinner in our Kurla branch, come with an open heart. We are here to feed you, not to impress you with luxury.
Noor Mohammadi Hotel
I am part of the fourth generation of the family that started this hotel in 1923. We keep our doors open for everyone—from the regular office goer to big film stars—because at the end of the day, everybody loves a good plate of Nalli Nihari.
