A Taste of Our 100-Year Old Culinary Legacy

Since 1923, we have served the real taste of Bhendi Bazaar. From our great-grandfather's Nalli Nihari to the famous Chicken Sanju Baba, this is our story on a plate.

We were honored to receive the Hospitality Hope Award for being a 'Value for Money Local Gem'. This award recognizes our family's dedication to serving authentic, home-style recipes for nearly a century.

Receiving the Hospitality Hope award at the Times Food Awards. It is a proud moment for us to be recognized for carrying on the legacy of four generations with dishes like our Safed Biryani and Haleem.

It's always a pleasure to host Rashmi Uday Singh, who has been dining with us for years. Here she talks about our 100-year history, the Sanju Baba recipe, and our award for being one of Mumbai's best local gems.

This is where it all begins, on the streets of Mohammad Ali Road. Here I am with my family, the third and fourth generations, continuing the work my great-grandfather started.

As I always say, we are here to serve good food, not luxury-vaxury. Our goal is simple: your stomach and heart should be full. Here I am discussing our lost recipes like Kaju Keema and Mutton Hakimi.

A glimpse of our home at Mohd Ali Road. Here you can see our famous Kaju Keema and the sweet Rabdi that our customers love to end their meal with.

The feeling of satisfaction after a good meal at our Bhendi Bazaar hotel. This is what we strive for, to make every bite a delicious memory.

About this collection

Don't come here looking for fancy table service or quiet, air-conditioned isolation. We are a high-turnover, bustling spot where the legacy is in the food, not the decor. Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch or bringing the family, expect the same recipes our family has been perfecting since 1923—slow-cooked mutton, authentic spice blends, and meals that leave you full, not broke.

Our journey began in 1923 with a simple bhati-yarkhana (kitchen) in Bhendi Bazaar. My great-grandfather Abdul Karim started with just one promise: to feed the workers of Mumbai with honest, slow-cooked Mughlai food. Today, as the third and fourth generations, we continue that same mission. We believe in serving the aam aadmi and the film stars with the exact same dedication.

We do not chase 'luxury-vaxury' trends. We focus on the craft. Our Nalli Nihari is slow-cooked overnight until the marrow melts, and our Chicken Sanju Baba is the genuine recipe gifted to us by Sanjay Dutt—no shortcuts, just authentic whole spices. We are proud of our 'Hospitality Hope' award for being a local gem that offers true value, and we are equally proud that our walls are graced by artworks from MF Husain and photos of the people who have made us a part of their lives for decades.

From our White Biryani to our Mutton Haleem, every dish is a result of patience. We have kept these recipes alive when others have let them disappear. Come hungry, grab a seat, and experience the real, unfiltered taste of Mumbai’s culinary history. We are not just a restaurant; we are a family-run institution where every meal is a testament to the decades of tradition we carry forward.
