About The Bandhgala & Indo-Western Collection
When we make a Bandhgala, the first thing I look at is the weight. Most off-the-rack pieces feel like a suit of armor because of the heavy canvas lining, which just does not work in our weather. We use light, structural interlining so the jacket sits sharp on your shoulders without making you sweat through your kurta by the end of the first dance.
A Bandhgala or Jodhpuri set should feel like a second skin, not a costume. At our Defence Colony studio, we avoid the heavy, stiff fabrics that turn a celebration into a chore. Instead, we work with fine linens, wool blends, and lighter canvases that hold their shape but still breathe.
Our 'Metal Bling' collection is where we really push the design. You will find Bandhgalas finished with antique details, like buttons made from 1 Anna coins or custom hardware that adds a modern, edgy contrast to the traditional silhouette. We also experiment with layering—wearing a safari-style vest over a kurta, or pairing structured Jodhpuri trousers with a clean, unlined jacket.
Whether you are prepping for a wedding or a cocktail evening, the process is simple: we measure, we consult on the fabric, and we build. If you want a specific crest, contrast piping, or a particular shade of velvet, we make it happen. You walk out with something that respects our roots but fits the way you actually live.

I am Manu Arya. I believe a Bandhgala should be sharp enough for the boardroom and comfortable enough for an all-night wedding. My team and I build these pieces in our Delhi studio, focusing on heritage details that actually mean something.
