For weddings and celebrations, a Jodhpuri or Indo-Western set offers the right balance of heritage and modern style. I design these as complete ensembles, focusing on intricate embroidery, premium fabrics, and a precise fit that reflects your personality.

About Indo-Western & Jodhpuri Styles

Getting a Jodhpuri right is about the structure, specifically how the shoulder sits and how the embroidery lands on the fabric. When we start a project at my Janakpuri studio, I do not just take measurements, as we first discuss the event type to decide between velvet, jacquard, or suede, ensuring the weight of the hand-work never compromises your comfort.

My process for creating Indo-Western and Jodhpuri sets centers on marrying traditional silhouettes with contemporary requirements. Whether you are looking for a sharp, minimal look or a heavy, wedding-ready ensemble, the fabric selection is the first critical step. I typically work with heavy micro-velvet, textured jacquard, and brocades because they provide the necessary structure to support embroidery like zardozi, cut-dana, and sequins without sagging.

For most clients, we navigate three core design paths:

  1. The Modern Minimalist: Clean, solid-color Jodhpuri jackets with subtle pocket-square detailing or a single lapel-brooch accent. These are excellent for daytime events or sangeet functions.
  2. The Embroidered Statement: This is where we incorporate geometric or floral motifs across the collar, cuffs, or as an asymmetrical shoulder panel. This creates a focal point that is balanced by a simple, color-matched kurta underneath.
  3. The Royal Classic: Inspired by heritage designs, these pieces use premium pashmina wool or rich velvet bases with heavy, intricate gold or silver thread-work.

Every ensemble includes the jacket and perfectly tailored trousers. Since we handle the construction in-house, the fit is the priority. We use heavy fusing and shoulder padding to maintain the shape, and we always ensure there is a trial fitting before the final steam-pressed delivery. Because this work involves manual pattern-making and careful surface ornamentation, please allow 15 to 20 days for production. This timeline ensures the adhesives and embroidery have time to set properly, resulting in a cleaner finish.
