About Classic Suits & Tuxedos
A suit is only as good as the fit. When you visit my studio in Defence Colony, we do not just take measurements. We look at your posture and how you move. I use a half-canvas construction as our standard, which gives the jacket a natural drape that follows your body, unlike the stiff, glued-together feel of mass-produced suits.
I started Nine with one goal: making formal wear that does not feel like a chore. Too many jackets I see are stuffed with heavy, synthetic linings that trap heat, making them miserable in our weather. That is why I rely on breathable Italian materials from mills like Loro Piana and Dormeuil. These fabrics are lighter and allow the body to breathe.
The Construction Difference
My approach is about honest tailoring. For our two-piece sets, we use half-canvas construction as a base, with full-canvas options for those who want a more structured, long-lasting garment. This allows the suit to mold to your shape over time rather than staying rigid.
My Process
We do not rush. When you come to the studio, we go through a 20-point measurement profile. I insist on a minimum of two fittings—a baste fit and a forward fit—to perfect the sleeve pitch and shoulder alignment. My trousers come with features you will actually appreciate, like grip waistbands that keep your shirt tucked in and reinforced crotch stitching for durability. Whether you need a crisp tuxedo for a black-tie event or a plaid jacket for the office, I build it to fit your life, not just your wardrobe.
