Artisan Hand-Painted & Embroidered Menswear
I believe clothing should tell a story. My hand-painted and embroidered pieces are created with local artists to ensure every brushstroke and stitch is unique to you.
This video shows the detail of one of our hand-painted floral jackets. Each flower is carefully painted by an artisan, creating a piece that is truly one of a kind. It’s a modern take on traditional motifs, perfect for making a statement.

A closer look at the rich, colorful floral embroidery on our velvet sherwani. The texture of the velvet combined with the detailed threadwork creates a look of pure opulence and artistry.
About The Artist's Canvas
Unlike mass-produced machine embroidery, the hand-painted work I commission takes nearly ten days per piece to complete. It isn't just about the visual—it is about the depth of the art. When we sit down at my studio, we are not just picking fabric; we are deciding how to translate your personal style into a design that an artist will then bring to life on your sherwani or bandhgala.
The Story Behind the Art
I am obsessed with keeping our Indian craft alive. For me, that means stepping away from the factory floor and working directly with real artists. Many of our pieces feature hand-painted floral motifs or intricate threadwork created by artisans from Rajasthan who spend days on a single garment. It is a slow process, but it results in a level of detail that a machine simply cannot replicate.
Where Comfort Meets Ceremony
One of the biggest complaints I hear is how uncomfortable wedding wear can get after a few hours. I design these pieces to be worn, not just displayed. Whether it is a velvet sherwani or a floral bandhgala, I use proprietary breathable interlinings and lightweight construction so you can stay cool from the pooja to the late-night reception. You get the opulence of heavy embroidery without the stuffiness that ruins the experience.
Making It Yours at Nine
Everything happens one-on-one at my Defence Colony studio. We treat this as a collaboration. We will discuss your preferences, the event setting, and the kind of statement you want to make. Do you want a subtle, sophisticated floral pattern on a dark velvet base, or something bold and vibrant? We will figure it out together. Because we do not mass-produce, every order is treated as a unique project from the first chalk mark on the fabric to the final stitch.
Nine Styles
I am Manu Arya, and I started Nine to bring real artistry back into men's formal wear. I work directly with talented local artists to create pieces that feel personal, not mass-produced, so you can wear your heritage with pride.
