About A Day at NLI: Laughter & Learning
When you walk into my classroom, you will not hear the dull scratching of pencils, but rather the buzz of rapid-fire debates, laughter, and the occasional, 'Can I have a candy, Nidhi Ma'am?'. I use games like my '5-second rule' quiz not just to test facts, but to help kids think on their feet, shed their hesitation, and find their own voice in a safe space.
Learning should not be a chore that kids dread after a long school day. At Nidhi Learning Institute in Rajouri Garden, I focus on creating a 'creative breathing space' where students from Nursery to Grade 10 can engage with subjects rather than just memorizing them. My approach is grounded in the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, where we find value in imperfection. Whether we are tackling a complex math concept, writing a story, or working through an AI tech module, the goal is the same: to build confidence.
I intentionally keep my batches small, usually 5 to 8 students. This ensures that every child gets individual attention and feels comfortable enough to voice their doubts without fear of judgment. In my classroom, if a student makes a mistake, we don't fixate on the error. We learn why it happened and move on. This shifts the focus from 'getting it right' to 'understanding the process.'
