A full view of the hand-painted peacock pair, designed to be sandwiched in glass for a door. The composition shows the two birds intertwined under a tree, filled with detailed patterns and vibrant, intuitive color choices.

This is a digital mockup showing how a custom set of 20 Gond art tiles with embroidery could look as a large wall installation. This project for a client in the USA was inspired by Egyptian wall art, blending cultures and styles.

A Madhubani 'Tree of Life' painting, rich with gold and brick-red tones. The intricate line work and symbolic imagery are hallmarks of this ancient art form from the Mithila region of India.

This A4-sized Madhubani fish painting, titled 'Madhubani Machali', is presented in a simple black frame. The striking black and white design is filled with detailed patterns of fish and lotuses, symbolizing prosperity and purity.

This framed Pichwai-style cow, painted on glass, is surrounded by lotuses. The glass medium gives the colors a special luminosity, making it a vibrant addition to any wall.

A pair of small square canvases featuring a cow painted in the Pichwai style. This art form traditionally depicts tales of Krishna, and the cow is a beloved and sacred subject.

A close-up of the two peacocks, showing the detailed patterns on their bodies and the dense foliage of the tree. I used fine lines and cross-hatching to create texture and depth in this Gond-inspired piece.

My watercolor trial of the famous Stone Chariot in Hampi, Karnataka. This was an experiment in a new medium for me, capturing the warm, sunlit tones of the ancient stone architecture.

A detailed shot of the Gond deer painting, focusing on the intricate patterns. Gond art uses dots, dashes, and fine lines to fill its subjects, and here you can see the different textures I created.

About Traditional Indian Folk Art

When I work on custom pieces, like the ones designed to be sandwiched between glass for door inserts, I don't just focus on the motif. I consider how the light will hit the glass and how the surrounding woodwork will frame the piece, often experimenting with colours on the fly rather than sticking to a rigid plan.
