Pichwai and Traditional Indian Folk Art Fusion
I love blending traditional Indian folk art with a personal touch to bring heritage into your living space. From serene Pichwai cows to vibrant Dasavataram narratives, every piece is painted with intention and care.
The final version of my Pichwai Cow painting, a showstopper piece for the year. This 12x14 inch artwork features a serene cow amidst a lush garden of lotuses and banana trees, set against a deep blue background, capturing the essence of Nathdwara.
Here is the framed Pichwai Cow painting, ready to bring a sense of peace and pastoral beauty to a home. The contrast between the dark background and the vibrant greens and pinks makes it a truly eye-catching piece.
A close-up of the completed Srinathji, the central figure in my large Pichwai painting. The deep blue of his skin, the intricate jewelry, and the garland of lotuses are all painted with devotion to capture his divine presence.
This video shows the making of my Dasavataram painting, where I blend different folk art styles. You can see the entire piece come together, from a blank canvas to a vibrant grid telling the ten stories of Vishnu's avatars.
About Pichwai & Folk Art Fusion
Choosing an art piece for your home is personal, and I always ensure the final painting feels like an extension of your own story. Whether you want a specific scene or a blend of styles like Phad and Pichwai, we start with a conversation to decide on the color palette and composition that fits your wall best.
My work here is about more than just recreating classics; it is about interpreting them. I enjoy mixing techniques, such as incorporating the bold storytelling of Phad art or the intricate detailing of Patua with the devotional nature of Pichwai. This approach lets me create pieces that honor ancient traditions while feeling relevant in contemporary homes.
Most of my work is commissioned. If you have a specific deity, a story from the Puranas, or even a particular color theme in mind, I work with you to sketch the concept before I ever touch a brush to canvas. For larger pieces, such as my 3x3 feet compositions, I share progress updates from the initial outline to the final details, so you are part of the journey.
I use high-quality acrylics on canvas to ensure the colors stay vibrant for years. Each piece is varnished to protect against dust and humidity, which is especially important for our climate. Whether it is a small, framed Pichwai cow for your hallway or a grand Dasavataram narrative for your living room, the goal is always the same: to create a piece that brings peace, culture, and beauty (Azhagu) into your daily life.
