Hand-Painted Glass Art & Custom Upcycled Bottles

byNidhiDelivered in BengaluruView full gallery

Transform everyday glass into vibrant, light-catching art. I use traditional folk patterns and nature-inspired motifs to turn windows and bottles into unique, glowing pieces for your home.

This custom glass painting was designed for a penthouse terrace window, bringing a flock of tropical birds indoors. It shows how art can be integrated directly into your home's architecture, creating a unique, light-filled feature.

A hand-painted bottle with a floral and butterfly design, held up against the blue sky. The transparency of the glass makes the colors glow beautifully in the natural light.

This framed Pichwai-style cow, painted on glass, is surrounded by lotuses. The glass medium gives the colors a special luminosity, making it a vibrant addition to any wall.

A decorative bottle painted with a yoga tree-pose silhouette against a bright yellow background. The base features traditional patterns and mirror work, blending modern themes with folk art.

A framed Gond-style cow painting on glass. The cow stands under a tree with birds, showcasing a playful and colorful interpretation of the traditional art form.

This Madhubani-style cow is painted on glass and framed. The artwork features a decorated cow under hanging flowers, with a patterned border at the base, all typical of the Madhubani aesthetic.

About this collection

Painting on glass is a delicate balance compared to canvas or paper. It requires a steady hand because glass is an unforgiving medium. I use high-pigment, transparent paints to ensure that when natural light hits these pieces—whether a window installation or a decorative bottle—they glow with a stained-glass effect that shifts and changes throughout the day.

How I Work with Glass

Unlike painting on paper, glass requires specific preparation to ensure the paint adheres well and stays vibrant. My glass art typically falls into two categories: architectural accents and decorative upcycled bottles.

For architectural glass, like the terrace window installation, I work with the light source in mind. We determine where the sun hits the glass so that the colours, often inspired by Pichwai or Gond traditions, really pop. For bottles, I love the experimental side. I treat each bottle as a canvas for abstraction, using dot-art or landscape themes to breathe new life into discarded glass.

Custom Art Process

Most of my work is made-to-order. If you have an empty window pane, a glass door, or even a favourite bottle, we can discuss the design together. I blend traditional Indian styles—like the fine lines of Madhubani or the symbolic nature motifs of Gond—with modern colour palettes.

A few things to note:

  • Subjects: I paint nature, animals (my 'Moo Project' cows are a favourite!), and floral patterns.
  • The No-Face Rule: I do not paint human faces. It is the one creative boundary I hold firm.
  • Longevity: Every piece is finished with protective techniques to ensure your art stays vibrant, whether it's displayed indoors or in a sunny spot.

I am based in Bengaluru and can deliver locally, but I frequently ship my glass art and painted bottles to clients across India and internationally to the US, Germany, and Singapore.

Hi, I'm Nidhi. For me, art is therapy and my way of finding calm in a busy world. I love taking something everyday—like a glass bottle or a window pane—and giving it a new story with bright, folk-inspired colours.
