Digital & Modern Art
My digital art is where tradition meets tech. I love using my iPad to experiment with vibrant mandalas and modern illustrations that bring a contemporary twist to the Indian folk styles I adore.
A digital illustration of Goddess Lakshmi that I created on Procreate. It was my attempt at drawing a divine figure, focusing on the traditional iconography with a clean, digital finish.
My first attempt at creating a mandala on Procreate. I love the glowing effect I was able to achieve with the orange and yellow gradient on a black background.
My "Magenta State of Mind" mandala, framed and ready to hang. This large 2x2 feet piece is a meditation in shades of pink and purple.
The large magenta mandala displayed on a wall. A piece this size and detail takes between 20 to 30 hours to complete by hand.
An outdoor shot of the magenta mandala, showing how the metallic paints shimmer in the sunlight.
The finished mandala on paper, decorated with a few flowers. The process of creating these repetitive patterns is a form of therapy for me.
A fun shot showing the scale of the 2x2 feet mandala. This piece is available for purchase.
An "Evil Eye" or "Nazar" mandala, designed to ward off negative energy. I used shades of blue and turquoise with gold details to create this protective wall hanging.
This painting, "Vasantha Ruthu" (Spring Season), is my tribute to the beautiful blooming trees of Bangalore. It's a colorful landscape filled with jacaranda, gulmohar, and tabebuia trees.
A bright and cheerful acrylic painting of butterflies in a garden. I made this as a handmade birthday gift for a dear friend.
About Digital & Modern Art
I am still learning the ropes of digital art on my iPad, but it has opened up a whole new world for me. I love how I can experiment with glowing gradients and intricate mandalas that would take ages by hand. It is clean, vibrant, and allows me to play with light in ways acrylics sometimes cannot, perfect for anyone wanting a bold, modern piece that still feels like therapy for the soul.
While my heart is rooted in traditional Indian folk art like Gond and Pichwai, digital art has become a fascinating playground for my creativity. Using Procreate has allowed me to push my boundaries, especially with mandalas where I can play with symmetry and color gradients that pop off the screen.
Why digital art?
It gives me the freedom to iterate, undo, and experiment with 'what if' scenarios that are harder to pull off on canvas. Whether I am creating a divine figure like Goddess Lakshmi with a clean, modern finish or designing a vibrant floral illustration, the iPad is my go-to for these fresh, contemporary vibes.
Custom commissions
I am currently taking requests for custom digital illustrations. If you have an idea for a nameplate, a digital print, or something entirely unique, I would love to hear it.
A little heads-up
Just like with my physical paintings, I stick to my own creative boundaries here, too. I love nature, abstract patterns, floral motifs, and mandalas, but I do not draw faces. I find my flow in the details of the environment rather than portraits. My process is always about joy and color, so if you are looking for something that brings a bright, artistic energy into your space or onto your digital wall, let’s chat!
