Models present a cohesive collection from 'The Dark Side' theme, showcasing avant-garde headpieces and dramatic silhouettes on the Memorabilia 2024 runway.

Memorabilia is more than a fashion show; it's a full-scale production with energetic dance performances by our talented students, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.

A proud moment for our students and faculty. Award winners are recognized on stage by industry guests and our director, celebrating their outstanding work at Memorabilia.

About this collection

Memorabilia is not just a show, it is the practical culmination of our students' year-long industrial training. Every garment you see on this stage has been drafted, cut, and stitched by our students using the same industrial machinery found in export houses. The collections are reviewed by industry veterans who judge the work based on market-ready finish, design innovation, and technical construction.

At the New Delhi YMCA Institute for Fashion Technology and Design (IFTD), we believe that fashion education requires real-world application. While the Memorabilia design show is the highlight of our academic calendar, it represents only the visible tip of our curriculum.

Our fashion design courses are built around the 'learn by doing' philosophy. Students do not just study theory; they gain exposure to the actual garment production cycle. This includes visits to textile printing units in industrial belts like Noida and Okhla, and hands-on experience in our labs with industrial single-needle lockstitch machines (Juki and Brother).

Whether you are enrolling in our one-year Diploma in Fashion Design or a short-term certification, you will engage with:

  • Technical Skills: Training in CAD (Photoshop, CorelDraw, Illustrator) and manual pattern drafting.
  • Industry Exposure: Guest lectures by merchandisers and sourcing managers who provide insights into the current job market.
  • Portfolio Building: Creation of lookbooks and window display projects that act as your calling card for future employers.

Our placement cell works alongside your training, ensuring that when you finish your diploma, you have the skills and the industry connections to step directly into roles at export houses or design firms. We also offer specialized modules in Visual Merchandising and Fashion Styling for those looking to enter the retail and commercial sectors. Our training is designed to be job-oriented, ensuring that students from all backgrounds can build a professional future in the creative arts.
