About Student Work & Exhibitions
When you walk through our end-of-semester exhibitions, you are not looking at simple class assignments. You are seeing the actual retail displays, mood boards, and collection pieces our students created for real-world scenarios. We push our students to handle everything from material sourcing to runway styling, because that is the professional portfolio you need when you sit for your first job interview.
At the Institute for Fashion Technology and Design (IFTD) within the New Delhi YMCA, we believe a degree is only as good as the work you can actually demonstrate. This is why our curriculum is built around tangible outputs.
Building a Professional Portfolio
Our students do not just study design theory. They build it. Whether it is a visual merchandising project featuring retail themes like Chanel or Zudio, or an interior design mood board that solves a specific space-planning problem, every project is designed to mirror industry standards. By the time you graduate, you have a physical and digital portfolio that shows employers exactly what you are capable of.
Industry Exposure
We take our students out of the classroom. You have likely seen our work at events like our Fashion Show at Reliance Mall, where students manage everything from garment construction to model styling. These platforms are not just for display; they are networking hubs where students interact with industry experts, faculty, and potential employers.
What We Showcase
Our exhibitions are a mix of diverse creative disciplines:
- Fashion & Styling: Full collections showcased on the runway.
- Visual Merchandising: Retail-ready window displays and store concepts.
- Interior Design: Technical drawings, 3D renders, and material boards.
- Fine Arts: Painting and calligraphy projects that blend artistic skill with commercial viability.
We invite all prospective students to visit our Connaught Place campus to see these projects firsthand. It is the best way to understand the level of practical training we provide and to see how your career could take shape here.
