About this collection
Our students don't just study design concepts; they visit places like the Weaver's Service Centre or Kirti Nagar furniture markets to see materials, production techniques, and client requirements firsthand. This practical exposure shows you the real-world logistics, material costs, and decision-making processes that a textbook simply cannot cover.
Education is only the first step. To truly succeed in fields like fashion or interior design, you need to understand how the industry functions on the ground. That is why our curriculum is built around regular industrial visits to major hubs across Delhi and Noida.
Why We Prioritize Field Exposure
Theory tells you how a loom works or how to plan a floor layout, but field visits show you the constraints. When our students visit the Merino Experience Centre, they interact with sales executives and see product applications in real-time. They learn about surfacing solutions, plywood grades, and wall cladding—not just from a brochure, but by seeing them installed in professional showrooms.
Learning at the Source
- Fashion & Textiles: We take students to the Weaver's Service Centre and export houses like Savi Fashion Apparel. You will see Jacquard machines, block printing, and leather crafting in action. You learn how export quality is maintained and how designs are scaled for production.
- Interior Design: We move beyond CAD software. We conduct guided tours of Kirti Nagar, Asia's largest furniture market, and visit active construction sites for Vastu Shastra assessments. This helps you understand how flooring, lighting, and plumbing layouts are managed on site.
- Media & Photography: Our product photography workshops happen in live studio environments, teaching you lighting and composition techniques that apply to actual merchandising portfolios.
These visits are not just sightseeing; they are networking opportunities. You meet industry experts, ask questions about supply chains, and build contacts that often lead to internships and job offers before your final semester ends. By the time you graduate, you will have seen the real industry, not just a digital rendering of it.
YMCA
We are the New Delhi YMCA, and we have been part of this city’s heartbeat since 1927. We believe in learning by doing, so we get you out of the classroom and into factories, studios, and construction sites to build the skills that actually get you hired.
